Academic Diagnostics & Screeners
Academic Diagnostics - This assessment helps identify the level the student is currently performing at. It also helps identify any knowledge gaps so that students can progress effectively.
Dyslexia Screeners - This screener is not a diagnostic tool, but can identify whether or not your student is at risk for dyslexia. This is helpful information to bring to your primary care physician if you have concerns about learning differences.

We are Neurodivergent friendly. We understand students have all kinds of needs. Whether your student has learning differences or learns at an accelerated pace, we are happy to work with you and become part of your educational team. We are prepared to work with IEPs, 504s, or to help guide you through the process of requesting a MET.
Qualifications
We are an accredited ESA ClassWallet vendor. This means you can submit invoices directly through ClassWallet. All instructors have a college degree or are actively pursuing a degree in education or a related field. Each instructor is carefully selected for their ability to connect with students, adapt instruction, and create a supportive learning environment. We also require that all instructors hold a current fingerprint clearance card.
About Me

Hello, I’m Jennifer, the founder of The Science of Learning. I’m an educator, tutor, and lifelong learner with a passion for helping students truly understand how they learn best.

My background combines over a decade of experience in business and leadership with hands-on experience in education. I have taught in the classroom and now work closely with students and families through tutoring, small group instruction, and customized learning plans. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D in Cognition and Instruction, focusing on how the brain learns, with a goal of making education more engaging, effective, and empowering for every student.

I specialize in supporting students who feel overwhelmed, behind, or misunderstood in traditional learning environments. As someone who understands neurodivergent learning firsthand, I create a space where students feel safe, capable, and supported. My approach focuses on building confidence first—because when students believe they can learn, everything begins to change.

Rather than one-size-fits-all instruction, I use research-based strategies, diagnostic tools, and personalized teaching methods to meet each student exactly where they are. Whether we are working on foundational skills, preparing for academic success, or building lifelong learning habits, my goal is always the same: to help students grow with confidence and curiosity.

I also work closely with families to provide clarity, support, and practical strategies that extend beyond our sessions. Learning doesn’t stop when tutoring ends—it becomes part of a student’s daily life.

At The Science of Learning, we believe every student is capable of success when given the right tools, support, and environment.
